We''re recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team of a highly respected and growing luxury retailer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong reconciliation experience who''s looking to broaden their exposure across stock accounting, month-end and financial reporting.

What you''ll be doing

• Owning complex bank and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Supporting month-end close and financial reporting.

• Working closely with stock and inventory data to ensure financial accuracy.

• Reconciling inventory movements and investigating discrepancies.

• Supporting stock-related accounting and controls.

• Posting journals, accruals and prepayments.

• Assisting with audits and year-end processes.

• Partnering with colleagues across Finance, Operations and Supply Chain.

We''re looking for someone who has:

• Strong bank reconciliation experience.
• Previous experience within an Assistant Accountant, Finance Assistant, Senior Accounts Payable or similar finance role.
• Experience working within retail, FMCG, manufacturing, wholesale or another stock-based environment.
• An understanding of inventory or stock accounting (you don''t need to be an expert-we''re looking for exposure rather than specialist knowledge).
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel.
• A proactive approach with the confidence to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• A desire to continue studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA (or already part-qualified).
