Assistant Accountant with Bookkeeping; independent, innovative, collaborative practice

The Opportunity We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented experienced individual from practice to join the team to undertake Assistant Accountant and Bookkeeping responsibilities. The successful candidate will be involved in bookkeeping, year-end accounts preparation, VAT returns, and general client accounting support, working closely with a range of owner-managed businesses and SMEs. Key Responsibilities Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients. Preparing VAT returns Assisting with and preparing year-end accounts up to trial balance and final accounts stage. Liaising directly with clients to resolve accounting queries. Processing bank reconciliations, journals, accruals, and prepayments. Supporting senior team members with accounts preparation and client work. Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines. Working with cloud accounting software to support clients and maintain financial records.
