Assistant Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to join a sizeable finance team and gain exposure to a broad range of financial accounting, management accounting, reporting and business partnering activities. Working within a complex and fast-paced environment, you will support senior finance colleagues in delivering high-quality financial services and helping stakeholders make informed financial decisions. The RoleKey responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
• Preparing reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies
• Supporting budget monitoring, forecasting and financial planning activities
• Producing accurate financial reports and management information
• Analysing complex financial data and providing meaningful insights
• Supporting audit requirements and ensuring compliance with financial procedures
• Maintaining financial records, controls and reporting schedules
• Liaising with both finance and non-finance stakeholders to resolve queries
• Supporting the development and continuous improvement of financial systems and processes
• Providing guidance and support to junior team members where required

About YouTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• AAT Level 4 qualification, part-qualified accountant status, or equivalent finance experience
• Previous experience working within an accounting or finance environment
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of financial data
• Experience of reconciliations, reporting and financial analysis
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial colleagues
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
• A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience would be advantageous but is not essential
