Assistant Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in finance and accounting, with full training, mentoring and study support available.Working as part of a supportive finance team, you will gain valuable exposure to key accounting processes and reporting activities, whilst receiving guidance from experienced finance professionals to support your progression towards becoming a qualified accountant.Your new role As an Accounts Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the finance function and assisting with the production of accurate financial information. Duties will include:Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including posting prepayments and accruals for review.Maintaining the fixed asset register, including recording additions, disposals and calculating monthly depreciation.Analysing expenditure across allocated profit and loss categories.Supporting the preparation of monthly forecasts and annual budgets.Completing daily cashflow reporting.Performing bank reconciliations.Reconciling sales and output VAT within the general ledger to VAT returns.Assisting with ad hoc finance projects and responding to audit, tax and other finance-related queries.Contributing to process improvements and supporting the wider finance team as required.The ..... full job details .....
