Assistant Accountant - Band 6 Location: Belfast Salary: £19.32 per hour Hours: 37 hours per week Duration: Temporary, Full-Time Working Pattern: Monday - Friday Application Deadline: 5pm 9th October 2026 Apple Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant (Band 6) on behalf of a public sector organisation based in Belfast This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a key role in delivering day-to-day management accounting and reporting requirements, including budgetary control, financial reporting, investigation of variances and providing financial advice to senior managers and budget holders. Key Duties Support the delivery of day-to-day management accounting and financial reporting requirements for a designated division. Assist with budget setting, forecasting, monitoring and reporting of expenditure. Prepare and provide detailed management reports to senior managers and budget holders. Investigate budget variances and provide advice on appropriate corrective actions. Provide financial analysis and information to support effective financial management and decision-making. Use integrated financial management systems and associated reporting tools. Utilise advanced spreadsheet skills to analyse and present financial information.
