Mechanical Fitter/Assembly Technician

- Location: Trafford Park, Manchester
- Working Hours: 07:00–16:30, Monday to Thursday and 07:00–15:30 on Friday (44 hours/week)
- Salary: Up to £35,600 + bonus opportunities

Our client, a leading name in commercial manufacturing, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Fitter/Assembly Technician to join their growing team. Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Fitter/Assembly Technician:

- Assemble and install insulated panels on commercial freezer bodies
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and works orders
- Perform electrical terminations for lighting, switches, and tail lifts
- Use hand tools and bench equipment for cutting and fitting metal, wood, and plastics
- Apply silicone and gel coatings to seal joints, floors, and roofs
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed
- Work independently to meet production timelines and quality standards
- Support additional tasks and projects as directed by management

What We’re Looking For in a Mechanical Fitter/Assembly Technician:

- Previous experience in assembly or a similar hands-on manufacturing role
- Confidence in using hand tools and workshop equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong understanding of the manufacturing and assembly process
- Ability to work to engineering drawings and specifications
- A proactive, responsible attitude with good timekeeping and reliability
- Access to personal transport or ability to reliably commute to Trafford Park
