Our client, a leading player in the maritime, automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing sectors, is currently seeking skilled Assembly Technicians - Composite to join their high-performance manufacturing team. This permanent role involves the assembly of advanced composite sandwich structures and integration of complex sub-assemblies into larger airframe structures within a high-pressure production environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturing and assembling composite sandwich structures and complex structural and non-structural sub-assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and build standards.
  • Using hand tools, torque tools, drills, rivet guns, and related equipment competently and safely.
  • Applying structural adhesives and sealants to defined processes and specifications.
  • Working with complex jigs, fixtures, and tooling to ensure dimensional accuracy and repeatability.
  • Performing self-inspection and in-process quality checks and preliminary sign-off in accordance with quality procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Recording build and inspection data accurately and escalating any non-conformances in line with company procedures.
  • Collaborating with Production Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to resolve build issues and improve processes.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment in line with H&S and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacture and assembly area.
  • Supporting other areas of the business as and when required.


Job Requirements:


Essential:

  • Experience working with complex composite structures or other strongly related areas.
  • Experience in mechanical or structural assembly in a manufacturing environment.
  • Competent use of hand and power tools for precision assembly.
  • Ability to follow technical drawings, work instructions, and build documentation accurately.
  • High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure production environment.
  • Team player with good communication skills, both written and verbal.


Desirable:

  • Direct experience working with composite structures or bonded assemblies.
  • Experience in aerospace and/or automotive fitting, advanced structures fitting, or complex mechanical assembly.
  • Experience with riveted structures and aerospace-grade fasteners.
  • Familiarity with conducting static testing methods of bonded composite structures.
  • Knowledge of working with complex jigs, fixtures, and precision tooling systems.
  • Understanding of aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing quality systems (e.g., AS9100/ISO 9001).
