Assembly / Packer

Job Title: Assembly/Packer - Light Manufacturing
Job Purpose
To carry out assembly, packing, and dispatch duties within a light manufacturing environment, ensuring all products are built, packaged, and shipped to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

• Assemble products and components according to work instructions, technical drawings, or standard operating procedures.
• Carry out packing, labelling, and palletising of finished goods to meet customer specifications and company standards.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery safely and efficiently.
• Perform quality checks at each stage of assembly and packing to ensure products meet required standards.
• Accurately pick and prepare items for dispatch, ensuring correct documentation and labelling.
• Assist in loading and unloading deliveries, ensuring goods are handled safely and stored correctly.
• Maintain stock accuracy by recording parts and materials used in the production and packing process.
• Follow all health, safety, and manual handling procedures, including safe lifting of items up to 20kg.
• Keep the work area clean, organised, and free from hazards in line with 5S/lean manufacturing principles.
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily production and dispatch targets.
• Report any defects, shortages, or machinery issues promptly to line management.
• Flexibility to assist in other areas of production, packing, or warehouse operations when required.

• Previous experience in assembly, packing, or warehouse operations (preferred but not essential; training provided).
• Physically fit and able to safely lift, move, and handle items weighing up to 20kg.
• Ability to follow instructions, technical drawings, and standard operating procedures accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing workloads.
• Basic understanding of workplace health & safety requirements.

• Mon 7.00am - 4.30 pm
• Tues 7.00am - 4.00 pm
• Wed 7.00am - 3.30 pm
• Thurs 7.00am - 3.30 pm
• Fri 7.00am - 12.30 pm

• Starting at £12.21 per hour
• Temp to Perm Contract
