This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Learning Support Assistant within a specialist educational setting in Swindon, supporting young people with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
The education setting provides a holistic and restorative approach to education, behaviour and personal development. Pupils may have experienced significant challenges or trauma and can find it difficult to form positive relationships, manage their emotions and engage consistently with education. Some students may display high levels of anxiety or challenging behaviour, making empathy, patience and the ability to build trusting relationships essential.

Learning Support Assistant Summary:
- Specialist provision supporting pupils with SEMH, Autism, OCD, ADHD and complex social needs
- An excellent Learning Support Assistant opportunity for graduates or aspiring professionals interested in Youth Work, Probation, Rehabilitation, Mental Health or Youth Justice
- Supporting pupils with a wide range of learning needs, abilities and levels of engagement with education
- A strong focus on understanding trauma, positive reinforcement and building pupils'' confidence, self-esteem and emotional resilience
- Pupils may live at home with parents or guardians, or be supported within residential or foster care settings
- A rewarding opportunity to gain experience within a specialist SEMH environment and develop your understanding of mental health, youth work and rehabilitation
- Immediate start available- -90105 per day
- Specialist Team Teach and safeguarding training provided
- The education setting values Learning Support Assistants who are motivated, understand the importance of setting clear objectives and are keen to continue developing their own knowledge and experience within an SEMH setting
- A degree in Criminology, Psychology or a related subject would be highly desirable
