OverviewAspiring Psychologist - September Graduates role at TieTalent. This graduate SEN Teaching Assistant position supports pupils with a range of needs in an All-Through School (Primary and Secondary) in South West London. The role offers on-the-job training and opportunities to develop experience with children and young people, potentially strengthening applications for future Assistant Psychologist positions.
Responsibilities
Work with a wide variety of SEN, including but not limited to ASD (Autism), SPandL (Speech and Language), SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health), Behaviour, GDD (Global Developmental Delay), and more
Provide 1-2-1 and small group support to children in a professional setting
Collaborate in the classroom with Class Teachers, Senior Leaders, and SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators)
Utilise the school''s specialist Sensory Rooms to carry out specialist out-of-class interventions alongside the SENCO
Engage with external agencies, Social Workers, Counsellors, Educational Psychologists, and others
Support children with Educational Healthcare Plans (EHCPs) to ensure needs are met
Receive on-the-job training including Safeguarding, Prevent, Autism Awareness, Paediatric First Aid Training, and more
Ideal candidate
A graduate (or soon to be) in a relevant subject; Psychology is not essential
Predicted or final grade 1st Class or 2:1
Genuine interest in working with and supporting young people
Previous experience (e.g., tutoring, summer camps, nannying, babysitting, support work)
Any professional or personal SEN / Disability experience is a plus
Resilience, proactive attitude, and a sense of humor
Strong A-Levels and GCSEs across the board
Employment details
Type: Full-time
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday – Friday (Term Time Only)
Location: South West London
Contract: Long-term, starting September 2025 through July 2026
Pay: £110 - £120 per day, paid weekly
