Support Autistic Learners Through Meaningful 1:1 Mentoring

We''re looking for an ASD Mentor to support children and young people across West Sussex through personalised 1:1 mentoring.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you''ll support learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who require additional support to engage with education, develop confidence, build independence, and achieve positive outcomes. Many of the young people we work with benefit from consistent, relationship-led support from a trusted adult who understands their individual needs and strengths.

We''re particularly interested in mentors who can support learners in:

• Crawley
• Worthing
• Horsham
• Chichester
• Bognor Regis
• Littlehampton

Start Date: September

Hours: Flexible

Pay Rate: -2530 per hour

Type: 1:1 Mentoring

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years'' experience in an educational setting, including mentoring, teaching, tutoring, learning support, teaching assistant, youth work, or similar roles
• Experience supporting children and young people with ASD
• Understanding of autism-friendly and relationship-based approaches
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, calm, and adaptable approach
• Ability to build positive and trusting relationships
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within West Sussex

• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

• Anxiety and school avoidance
• Communication and interaction needs
• EHCPs and additional educational needs

Your role will focus on helping learners increase confidence, develop social and emotional skills, improve engagement, and achieve personalised goals.
