ASD Learning Support Assistant
A welcoming and inclusive SEN Secondary school in Southwark is seeking to appoint two dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join their specialist ASD provision from September 2026.This is an excellent opportunity for experienced LSAs who are passionate about supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other neurodiversities within specialist classroom settings.The RoleThe successful candidates will work closely with class teachers and the SEN team to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop communication and social skills, and achieve their individual targets in a nurturing environment.Key responsibilities include:Supporting pupils within specialist SEN classesWorking 1:1 and in small groupsAssisting with communication, sensory, and emotional regulation strategiesEncouraging pupil independence and engagementSupporting behaviour management in line with school policiesCollaborating with teachers, therapists, and parents where appropriateRequirementsApplicants must:Have at least 1 year of experience working in a UK classroomHave previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASDBe patient, proactive, and adaptableHave strong communication and teamwork skillsBe committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenDesirableExperience working within a specialist provision or resource baseKnowledge of PECS, Makaton, or sensory strategiesRelevant TA/LSA or SEN qualificationsThe School OffersA ..... full job details .....
