Essential work. Trusted expertise. Done properly — every time.

Asbestos surveying and analysis isn’t easy work. It takes experience, technical expertise and sound judgement — and it makes a genuine difference to people’s safety every day.

At Lucion, we deliver accurate, defensible asbestos surveying and analytical services that help clients manage risk and protect people, buildings and projects across the UK.

We’re looking for a Dual-Trained Asbestos Surveyor / Analyst to join our Hazardous Materials team. This is a field-based role covering the South West, with our office based in Cardiff.

If you take pride in your work, trust your technical judgement and believe in getting things right, you’ll fit right in.

The Role

You’ll work across a varied range of sites, using your expertise to support safer buildings and better decision-making.

You’ll:

  • Carry out management, refurbishment, demolition and asbestos-in-ground surveys
  • Undertake air monitoring and airborne fibre counting
  • Complete 4-stage clearances and inspect remediation works
  • Collect site data using a phablet and our award-winning NexGen reporting system
  • Work in line with relevant legislation and guidance, including HSG248 and HSG264
  • Maintain QHSE documentation and follow internal assurance processes
  • Build strong client relationships and provide clear, professional technical advice

In short: trusted technical work, delivered professionally, with no corners cut.

About You

You’ll ideally have:

  • BOHS P402, P403 and/or P404, RSPH equivalents, or a Certificate of Competence
  • Working knowledge of HSG248 and HSG264
  • A full UK manual driving licence
  • Experience working across different sites and environments
  • The flexibility to travel and work away when required
  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach
  • Confidence in your technical judgement and the ability to challenge when something isn’t right

You’re reliable, calm under pressure and take responsibility for the quality of your work.

What You’ll Get

We want you to have the support and benefits you need to do your best work, including:

  • £1,000 joining bonus for experienced Asbestos Surveyors and Analysts who apply directly
  • Paid travel time within your 40-hour week — typically worth £3,000–£4,000 annually
  • Working-away allowances
  • Healthcare Cash Plan
  • Techscheme vouchers
  • Reward platform with wellbeing support, cycle-to-work and 800+ retailer discounts
  • Enhanced family leave
  • Option to buy additional holiday
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Flexible working and supportive management

You’ll be backed by managers who understand site work and trust their people to deliver.
