ASB Officer
We are currently recruiting for an experienced ASB Officer to support a local authority in investigating and resolving cases of ASB and serious neighbour nuisance. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of complex ASB investigations, working closely with the Police, housing providers and legal services to gather evidence, implement appropriate interventions and progress enforcement action where necessary.
The Role
·Act as the lead officer for investigating and resolving individual cases of anti-social behaviour and serious neighbour nuisance.
·Manage ASB complaints and enquiries, ensuring cases are investigated and progressed in accordance with council policies and procedures.
·Conduct interviews with complainants, witnesses and alleged perpetrators to gather evidence and establish appropriate courses of action.
·Work in partnership with the Police, housing providers and other agencies to coordinate investigations and implement effective interventions.
·Prepare and maintain detailed case records, evidence files and documentation to support enforcement and legal proceedings.
·Prepare witness statements, prosecution files and supporting evidence for court proceedings.
·Attend court hearings, present cases and provide evidence where required.
·Support witnesses throughout legal proceedings, ensuring they receive appropriate advice and assistance.
·Ensure investigations and information disclosures comply with relevant ASB protocols and information-sharing agreements.
Key Requirements
·Previous experience as an Anti-Social Behaviour Officer, ASB Case Officer or in a similar housing enforcement or community safety role.
·Strong experience investigating complex ASB complaints and serious neighbour nuisance cases.
·Knowledge of ASB legislation, enforcement procedures and relevant legal processes.
·Experience gathering evidence, conducting interviews and preparing witness statements.
·Proven experience preparing cases for legal proceedings and working alongside legal services.
·Experience attending court hearings and providing evidence would be advantageous.
·Experience working collaboratively with the Police, housing providers and other statutory agencies.
·Understanding of information-sharing protocols and confidentiality requirements when managing ASB investigations.
