Art technician

We are seeking a reliable, organised, and enthusiastic Art Technician to support the smooth running of our busy Art Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for the arts and practical workshop skills who enjoys working in a creative educational environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare, maintain, and organise art materials, equipment, and resources for lessons. Support teachers and students during practical art sessions. Maintain specialist equipment, including ceramics, printmaking, photography, and digital art resources (where applicable). Ensure classrooms, preparation areas, and storage spaces are clean, safe, and well organised. Assist with the installation and display of student artwork around the school. Monitor stock levels, order materials, and manage deliveries within the department budget. Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with Health and Safety regulations. Carry out routine maintenance and basic repairs to equipment where appropriate. Support departmental events, exhibitions, and open evenings. The Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience working within an art department, workshop, school, college, or creative environment (desirable but not essential). Good practical skills and knowledge of a range of artistic materials and processes. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. The ability to prioritise tasks and work independently.
