Architectural Technician (Planning)

Anderselite are currently recruiting for an experienced Architectural Technician to join the Planning Department of a well-established consultancy in South Gloucestershire. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in residential architecture, with the potential to progress into a senior, project-leading position.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare drawings and documents for planning application submissions.Amend planning packs to support approval processes.Design layouts for housing types, flat blocks, road layouts, and landscaping.Develop street scenes and visual presentation materials (e.g., coloured layouts, 3D visuals).Assist with documentation required to discharge planning conditions.

Additional Technical Duties:

Contribute to the preparation of Design and Access Statements and other planning support documents.Support technical teams with working drawings for houses and flats (elevations, sections, roof plans, etc.)Assist in producing external works layouts and integrating information from external consultants.

Requirements:

Previous experience in the residential housing sector.Strong eye for detail and design with a passion for urban design and architecture.Working knowledge of planning requirements and building regulations.Skilled in AutoCAD.Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).Intermediate-level experience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate with team members and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

ONC/HNC in a construction-related field.3 GCSEs (grades C or above), including English and Maths.

Desirable:

Ability to sketch layout designs by hand.Experience using SketchUp or Revit.
