Architectural CAD Engineer (Surveying) | Ely, Cambridgeshire | £30,000 - £40,000
We are working with a growing Design & Build consultancy based in Ely seeking to appoint an Architectural CAD Engineer with experience in surveying to support a wide range of projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically minded CAD professional or building surveyor who enjoys hands-on site work and detailed design. You’ll be involved across all stages of projects – from initial survey and data capture to detailed 2D/3D design and client delivery.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Carry out site-based surveys to collect technical data and measurements for design use
- Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings, including plans, elevations, and technical detailing
- Work closely with project teams and clients to ensure designs meet technical and aesthetic requirements
- Attend design and coordination meetings, supporting projects from concept through to completion
- Manage workload across multiple live projects and ensure deadlines are met
- Maintain clear and accurate project records, including as-built drawings and survey documentation
- Resolve technical issues and discrepancies within drawings and specifications
- Apply current UK design standards and construction regulations to all work
Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience in architectural or surveying-based CAD work
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit
- Background in architecture, engineering, construction, or building surveying
- A degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
- Comfortable working on site and interacting with clients and contractors
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce precise and accurate drawings
- Strong organisational skills – able to manage time and priorities effectively
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (occasional travel to sites required)
- Security Clearance (or ability to obtain clearance)
