Job Title: Arboriculture OfficerLocation: DudleyRate: 21.65 per hour Job Purpose:To be one of the councils professional officers for arboriculture, advising council members, officers other department, members of the public, Borough solicitor and risk management officer on tree related issues and to ensure the sensitive and appropriate management of the borough''s tree stock to be responsible for the management organisation and administration of the arboriculture team for a specific area of the boroughBackground/ExperienceExperience of managing staff and budgetsExperience of producing technical documents on reports writingCompetent in ICT skills including MS office applications and working with databasesFamiliarity with condition assessment of trees and VTAKnowledge of modern arboriculture practicesExperience of working with the publicQualifications and Training Recognised arboriculture qualification to national diploma level or aboveMust have a category B driving licencePractical SkillsThe ability to identify trees and diagnose injury disease decay and structural defectsA working knowledge of legislation applicable to trees in particular planning legislation tree preservation order and relevant British standardsA working knowledge of all aspects of arboriculture operational techniques and tree management including health and safety issues on risk assessmentsKnowledge and understanding of nature conservation and bell diversity issues including wildlife and habitat management ..... full job details .....
