Appointed Person (Lifting)

We are seeking an experienced Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) to join a major infrastructure project in Dewsbury. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the planning, management and safe execution of a variety of lifting operations within a complex and fast-paced construction environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all lifting activities are planned, coordinated, and carried out safely in accordance with current legislation, industry best practice, and project requirements.

• Manage, organise, plan and control lifting operations across the project.
• Develop, review and approve lift plans, risk assessments and method statements.
• Select suitable lifting equipment and accessories for planned operations.
• Ensure lifting operations comply with LOLER, PUWER and relevant project procedures.
• Coordinate with site management, temporary works teams, lifting supervisors, crane operators and subcontractors.
• Conduct site visits to assess lifting requirements and identify potential risks.
• Brief lifting teams on approved lift plans and operational controls.
• Monitor lifting activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures.
• Support investigations, audits and continuous improvement initiatives relating to lifting operations.
• Provide technical advice and guidance on complex and non-routine lifting activities.

• CPCS A61 Appointed Person (or equivalent recognised qualification).
• Proven experience planning and managing lifting operations on large construction, civil engineering, rail, utilities or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of LOLER, PUWER and lifting industry best practice.
• Blue CSCS
• SMSTS
• Ability to produce detailed lift plans and supporting documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
