SCHAKO UK Ltd is part of the SCHAKO Group, an established international manufacturer of ventilation and air-distribution products.

Our UK team supports mechanical contractors, consultants and other construction professionals with technical product selection, estimating, quotations and order fulfilment. We are looking for an Applications Engineer - Technical Support & Estimating to join our office-based team in Ascot.

About the Role

This is an office-based role combining technical customer support, product selection, estimating, quotation preparation and order processing.  Approximately 50% of the role is technical support and 50% is estimating and quotation preparation.

You will manage enquiries, review drawings and specifications, select suitable products, calculate technical performance, prepare quotations and process customer orders.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and manage incoming technical and quotation enquiries
• Review drawings, schedules, specifications and bills of quantities
• Carry out drawing take-offs and calculate product quantities
• Select and configure suitable SCHAKO products
• Calculate airflow, pressure drop, sound levels and air throw
• Prepare quotations using QuoteWerks
• Liaise with the German factory for technical and pricing support
• Revise quotations following design changes
• Answer technical enquiries by telephone, email and Microsoft Teams
• Process customer orders accurately
• Provide aftersales technical support

About You

We are flexible regarding the candidate's background. Experience in HVAC, building services or technical estimating would be advantageous, but technically capable junior candidates will also be considered.

Candidates may currently be working as an Applications Engineer, Technical Estimator, Quotations Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Sales Support Engineer or Internal Sales Engineer.

Skills and Experience

• Basic understanding of HVAC or building services
• Good Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
• CAD experience is useful but not essential
• Previous QuoteWerks experience is not required as full training will be provided
