The Applications Engineer is a non-stop mix of mechanical know-how, design, prototyping, machining, machine build whilst also being customer facing to understand and provide a design solution to their requirements What You Will Do as Applications Engineer: Designing tooling/work holding for coil winding bobbins utilising CAD design, layout of engineering drawings Making prototype tooling/work holding using workshop machinery; manual lathe, milling machine, grinding, workshop hand tools and equipment Using CAD data for 3D printing to manufacture temporary tooling and prototyping (in-house 3D printing facilities) Run trials on different materials and sample components, evaluating results and adapting tooling and machine configuration accordingly Basic electrical work (e.g. swapping out controllers and motors) as part of machine modifications Evaluating sample components and identifying the right machine/tooling approach ..... full job details .....
