Antenna Calibration Engineer -ENG060

Overview
ALL.SPACE has developed a smart terminal, capable of linking with all satellites, all networks, in all orbits, all at once. Our ground-breaking software-defined service enablement platform integrates intelligent routing, edge computing and on-demand services to deliver unprecedented network resilience and application performance. Our terminal designs operate as fully electronic beam steering systems. Our IP has applications across a wide range of market sectors including aeronautical, land mobile, maritime, and 5G. It provides broadband, multi-beam, two-way communications with dynamic tracking of geostationary and non-geostationary satellites or terrestrial nodes. We are looking for world class talent to join our high-performing teamworking on cutting edge technologyin the satellite communications industry. We stand by our company values;INTEGRITY, INNOVATION and EXECUTION EXCELLENCE– giving you the opportunity to build your career in an environment where we encourage crisp decision-making, challenging the status-quo, championing your beliefs and ideas, sharing successes (and learning from failures) and working collaboratively with your fellow team members.ALL.SPACE is committed to practicing and promoting diversity, inclusion and equality in the workplace. We aim to lead by example by making satellite communications a more inviting and accessible industry for all.Visit

to learn more. The successful candidate will be working with an on-site team of around 4-5 people at first to commission a state-of-the-art over-the-air antenna testing facility for our novel Ka-band satcom terminal. This will include leading the set-up and operation of a brand new Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR). You will be responsible for highly technical calibration and qualifications of the terminals. Using your RF/antenna background, you will integrate MATLAB and Python-based control software to control and synchronise the CATR measurement system with a variety of RF infrastructure, including active RF networks, the satcom terminal (API controlled) and RF test equipment including a Keysight PNA-X, PNA, spectrum analysers, signal generators, power sensors, calibration kits and more. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer that wants to drive a highly technical, novel calibration and measurement system to a production-standard. The successful candidate will own multiple technical development workstreams to use statistical analysis of large RF measurement data-sets to develop our calibration and qualification routines to new heights in order to improve terminal throughput without sacrificing quality.Responsibilities (CATR Commissioning and Development)
Commission and run state-of-the-art Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR) systemsRun calibration and verification measurements of terminals as part of productionRun over-the-air development activity in the CATR for next-generation terminalsMaintain and develop MATLAB control scripts for the CATR systemAntenna Calibration and Verification
Develop, calibrate, and verify the performance of the calibration systemIntegrate calibration methodologies into system frameworksDevelop scripts to validate system functionalityDocumentation and Reporting
Document calibration procedures, methodologies, and results for internal reference and regulatory complianceGenerate reports summarizing findings, including defects and performance metrics; communicate effectively with stakeholders to convey results and recommendationsQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fieldMaster’s degree preferredProficiency in programming languages such as Python, MatlabExperience with calibration and verification of antenna elements such as active phased arrays, low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, frequency conversion, ADC and DACFamiliarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detailExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environmentPreferred Experience
Experience with over-the-air RF measurements in anechoic chambers (e.g., Compact Antenna Test Ranges (CATRs), Spherical/Planer Near Field Scanners using RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, vector network analysers and signal generators))Solid understanding of antenna principles, including digital and analog circuits, signal processing, and communication protocolsPrior experience in antenna engineering, calibration, or software development is highly desirablePlease note - due to the nature of the work the successful candidate will be required to be in the office 4 days a week.Benefits
