ANP / ACP

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and autonomous-Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)-to join our friendly GP surgery in Macclesfield on a locum basis.

The successful candidate will work as part of the primary care team, providing high-quality, patient-centred clinical care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute, chronic and undifferentiated conditions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ANP looking for flexible locum work within a supportive GP practice environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake autonomous clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients.

• Manage patients presenting with acute and minor illness, including appropriate assessment, investigation and safety-netting.

• Assess and manage patients with long-term conditions where appropriate to the role.

• Request and interpret relevant investigations and act on results appropriately.

• Prescribe safely and appropriately within scope of practice and current prescribing legislation.

• Recognise and appropriately manage patients who require urgent or emergency medical attention.

• Make appropriate referrals to secondary care, community services and other healthcare professionals.

• Provide clinical advice, education and health promotion to patients and carers.

• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records in accordance with practice and professional requirements.

• Work collaboratively with GPs, practice nurses, healthcare assistants, reception/administrative staff and the wider multidisciplinary team.

• Participate in clinical governance, safeguarding and practice quality and safety processes.

• Provide appropriate follow-up, review and safety-netting for patients.

• Work within professional competence, maintaining awareness of limitations and seeking GP or senior clinical support when required.

Essential Requirements

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.

• Qualification in Minor Illness and Independent Prescriber
