Inotiv .This is a full-time, 18 month fixed term contract (with the potential to be made permanent), based at our Hillcrest site in Belton, just outside of Loughborough.Our team are passionate about animal welfare and love working with rabbits and rodents. Does this sound like you?In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring the well-being of our animals, providing exceptional care to rabbits and rodents, including feeding, cleaning and breeding responsibilities in a production facility.We’ll support your training and development to learn new skills and experiences which will allow you to both progress in your role, and also to your next role. Our Team Leaders, Supervisors and Operations teams once started their careers as Animal Care Technicians.Responsibilities

Provide care to rabbits and rodents in a production facility, including feeding and cleaning, with breeding responsibilities as required.Keep accurate records of breeding, feeding, cleaning and animal care activities.Coordinate order details, including selection and packaging, ensuring accuracy at all times.Work as part of a team with Team Leaders, Supervisors and Operations staff; support animal welfare across the facility.Participate in training and development opportunities to progress in your career.About You

You have a genuine interest in animal development and breeding, and you’re comfortable handling and holding rabbits or rodents.You either have a qualification in animal care (or similar), or previous experience working in an animal related environment (handling and caring for animals).Attention to detail is key in this role as you’ll be keeping accurate records of breeding, feeding, cleaning and animal care activities. You’ll also coordinate order details, including selection, packaging, ensuring accuracy at all times.You’re a great team player, you’re flexible to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis and are happy to work overtime if it’s needed.Benefits

Due to the nature of this role, candidates cannot have pet rodents (mice, rats or guinea-pigs) or rabbits for biosecurity reasons. Please make us aware if you have animals that feed on rodents (snakes, birds).Candidates must be able to drive due to limited public transport.About Us
