Animal Breeding and Genetics Scientist - HSO Location: Hillsborough Salary: £19.59 per hour Hours: 37 hours per week Duration: Temporary, Full-Time (initially expected to be approximately 3 months) Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm Apple Recruitment Services are currently seeking an Animal Breeding and Genetics Scientist (HSO) on behalf of a public sector scientific organisation based in Hillsborough. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced scientist with a strong background in animal breeding, genetics and quantitative analysis to contribute to scientific research, knowledge transfer and engagement with farmers and industry stakeholders. Key Duties The successful candidate will work as an Animal Breeding and Genetics Scientist, applying specialist scientific knowledge and analytical skills within the area of animal breeding and genetics. Key areas of responsibility will include: Applying knowledge of quantitative genetics, breeding programmes and genomic selection. Analysing complex biological and genomic datasets. Undertaking statistical analysis and interpreting scientific data. Applying animal breeding principles within commercial farm systems. Supporting knowledge transfer and effective engagement with farmers and industry stakeholders. Communicating complex scientific concepts clearly to non-specialist audiences.
