Amenities Technician
Amenities TechnicianCamborne, CornwallA local authority is seeking an Amenities Technician to join its Facilities team, supporting the maintenance of public spaces, green areas, buildings and Council-owned assets. This is a temporary role to cover sickness.The technicians work on a rota basis in the following pattern: Week 1 - 40 hours: 08.00 -17.00, Monday to Thursday, Friday 08.00 - 14.30. Week 2 - 34 hours: 08.00-17.00 Monday to Thursday, Friday off.(30-minute break on all working days.) Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral maintenance of public spaces, buildings and facilitiesGrass cutting and maintenance of footpaths and vergesHorticultural duties including planting, pruning, weeding and floral displaysLitter collection, recycling and pressure washingOperating and maintaining tools, plant and machineryCarrying out safety and compliance checksMaintaining street furniture, memorials and amenity areasSupporting play equipment inspectionsWorking with community groups and supporting local eventsMaintaining appropriate records and following health and safety procedures About YouPractical experience in landscaping, horticulture, building maintenance or a similar roleGood understanding of outdoor health and safety and risk assessmentPhysically fit and comfortable working outdoorsGood communication skills and a positive approach to public enquiriesFlexible and reliable with a strong work ethicFull UK driving licence essential Desirable: NVQ Level 2 Horticulture, strimming/brushcutting, ..... full job details .....
