Alternative Provision Teacher (English / PSHE / Drama / General Cover)
Location: Ormskirk
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full Time, Permanent (Part Time considered)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:15pm (Term Time Only)



About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and resilient Teacher to join an Alternative Provision setting in Ormskirk, working with pupils in Years 10 and 11.

This is a varied role, delivering English, PSHE, Drama, and general cover lessons to students who may be disengaged from mainstream education. You''ll play a key role in rebuilding confidence, supporting behaviour, and helping pupils achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.



Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and adaptable lessons across English, PSHE, Drama, and general subjects
  • Differentiate teaching to meet a range of needs, including SEMH
  • Manage behaviour effectively and create a calm, supportive environment
  • Track and monitor pupil progress
  • Build strong relationships to support engagement and wellbeing
  • Work closely with staff, families, and external professionals


What We''re Looking For

  • QTS (or equivalent) - unqualified teachers with relevant experience considered
  • Experience teaching at secondary level (KS4 desirable)
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Experience with SEMH or Alternative Provision (desirable)
  • A flexible, patient, and resilient approach
  • Passion for supporting young people who need additional support
