ALN Teaching Assistant - Cardiff & Surrounding Areas
Primary & Secondary Settings

We are seeking an Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistant to join schools across Cardiff and nearby areas. This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils with a range of learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential in an inclusive classroom environment.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils with ALN in both mainstream and specialist settings

• Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions tailored to individual needs

• Assisting teachers with lesson preparation, differentiated activities, and classroom management

• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and engagement in learning

• Working closely with teachers and external professionals to implement support plans

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience supporting learners with ALN (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech & language needs)

• A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2/3) or equivalent experience

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• A patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach to learning support

• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
