Salary: £172.98 – £180 per day
Essential: QTS, EWC registration, Enhanced DBS, experience with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and trauma-informed teaching.

Elementa Support Services is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and experienced ALN Teacher to work within a supportive educational setting in Flintshire.

We're searching for a teacher who shares this philosophy – someone with a strong understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) who can confidently apply trauma-informed teaching strategies to help learners feel safe, supported, and ready to achieve.

Key ResponsibilitiesAs an ALN Teacher, you will:

Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of ALN learners.

Create a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment using trauma-informed approaches.

Recognise the impact of ACEs on pupil behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.

Support learners with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), helping them develop confidence and resilience.

Implement effective, relationship-based behaviour management strategies.

Develop personalised learning opportunities that encourage progress and independence.

Work closely with teaching assistants, ALNCOs, and other professionals to provide consistent support.

Monitor and assess pupil progress, recognising achievements both academically and personally.

Promote positive relationships and ensure learners feel safe, respected, and included.
The ideal candidate will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
-
Have proven experience supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

Have practical experience delivering education through a trauma-informed approach.
-
Be confident supporting pupils with emotional, social, and behavioural challenges.

Possess excellent communication, classroom management, and relationship-building skills.

Be adaptable, patient, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education.

Ideally have experience in specialist ALN schools, PRUs, or alternative provision settings.

Hold an Enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to apply for one.

Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willing to complete registration.
