Reed Engineering and Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering and Manufacturing Company who are growing year on year. Alloys Materials Sortation Operative Overview We are seeking an experienced Alloys Materials Sortation Operative to join our production team. This role is ideally suited to someone with a solid background in the scrap metal, recycling, or revert materials sector who has a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of alloy classification. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, identifying, and grading a wide range of metal materials, ensuring they meet strict quality standards and customer specifications. Key Responsibilities Inspect and classify incoming metal and revert materials using handheld XRF equipment and visual assessment techniques. Sort materials accurately according to alloy grade, composition, quality standards, and customer requirements. Detect and isolate contaminated materials, including welded repairs, coatings, inserts, attachments, and other foreign substances. Maintain rigorous segregation procedures to ensure material traceability and eliminate the risk of cross-contamination. Record inspection findings and grading outcomes accurately using company systems and processes. Liaise closely with production personnel to ensure material flows efficiently through the operation.
