The successful candidate will be responsible for allocating permanent and temporary accommodation in line with Part VI of the Housing Act 1996, the Council''s Housing Allocations Scheme and relevant temporary accommodation policies. Key duties will include managing allocations through the choice-based lettings system, carrying out direct matching for applicants with specific needs, including medical cases, management transfers, under-occupiers and sheltered housing applicants. You will also verify shortlisted applications, complete affordability and suitability assessments, and provide clear housing advice to applicants awaiting rehousing or receiving an offer of accommodation. You will support the letting of temporary accommodation, prevention and private rented sector properties, including completing sign-ups and providing appropriate tenancy advice.
