Overview

In this role, you''ll work on domestic dwelling projects across Newcastle and nearby regions, ensuring compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations 2021.

Responsibilities
As a Level 1 Air Tightness Tester, you will:
- Conduct air tightness tests on domestic dwellings in line with regulatory standards across Newcastle.
- Perform site inspections to identify and address potential air leakage issues in the Newcastle region.
- Review architectural drawings and provide design recommendations to improve air tightness in projects around Newcastle and Surrounding Areas.
- Offer consultancy services to reduce construction risks and enhance energy efficiency.
- Prepare detailed test reports, including recommendations for remedial actions, supporting projects in Newcastle.
- Collaborate with clients and project teams to meet air tightness targets effectively across Newcastle and nearby areas.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you''ll need:
- A Level 1 Air Tightness Tester certification (or equivalent).
- A solid understanding of Part L of the Building Regulations 2021.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- A valid UK driving licence, as travel across Newcastle and surrounding areas is required.
Day-to-Day
Your typical day will include:
- Traveling to various sites across Newcastle and nearby regions to conduct air tightness tests.
- Collaborating with contractors and project teams in the Newcastle area to ensure smooth test execution.
- Using tools like smoke testing to identify air leakage and provide on-the-spot advice.
- Preparing and submitting detailed test reports to clients and regulatory bodies, aiding projects in Newcastle and Surrounding Areas.
- Playing a hands-on role in improving the energy efficiency of new builds in Newcastle.
