Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of air conditioning and refrigeration systems across residential, commercial, and/or industrial sites.

This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including split units, VRV/VRF systems, chillers, cold rooms, and commercial refrigeration equipment.

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks.

• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot, and implement effective solutions promptly.

• Ensure all works comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

• Provide technical support and advice to clients on system performance and efficiency.

• Accurately complete service reports, job sheets, and maintain proper records.

• Collaborate with other engineers and contractors when required.

• Participate in on-call rota for emergency breakdowns (if applicable).

Skills & Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (or equivalent).

• F-Gas Category 1 certification (essential).

• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and fault-finding techniques.

• Previous experience in installing and servicing a variety of HVAC systems.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.

• Full, clean driving license (if role requires travel).

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
