Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Highways Agent to join a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering a major highways infrastructure project in Norfolk.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of key work packages on a high-profile scheme, working within a collaborative and fast-paced project environment.

• Oversee day-to-day delivery of highways works on site
• Manage subcontractors and ensure effective subcontract management across all packages
• Lead site teams including engineers and supervisors
• Develop, update, and drive the programme, ensuring works are delivered to schedule
• Monitor progress and performance against key milestones
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
• Liaise with the client, stakeholders, and internal delivery teams
• Maintain accurate reporting, records, and documentation

• Proven experience as an Agent or Sub Agent on highways projects
• Strong background working with Tier 1 or principal contractors
• Demonstrable experience in subcontract management
• Solid programming experience (e.g. short-term planning, lookaheads, programme updates)
• Good working knowledge of NEC4 contracts and commercial processes
• Strong understanding of highways construction
• SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid (essential)
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
