Description

As the Aerospace Quality Engineer you will be tasked with the following -

  • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead investigations into internal non-conformances, customer complaints, and supplier quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
  • Conduct internal process, product, and system audits, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and company procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Production teams to drive quality improvements and reduce defects, scrap, and rework.
  • Review and approve First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
  • Support customer audits, regulatory audits, and quality assessments, acting as a key point of contact for quality-related matters.
  • Analyse quality data and KPIs, identifying trends and implementing improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing performance.
  • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), ensuring timely containment, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness.
  • Work with suppliers to monitor and improve supplier performance, conducting supplier audits and supporting supplier development activities.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure manufacturing processes meet all quality expectations.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities through quality planning, risk assessments, and process validation.
  • Develop and maintain inspection plans, control plans, and quality documentation to support production activities.
  • Ensure calibration and measurement systems are effectively controlled and compliant with required standards.
  • Utilise quality tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), MSA, and capability studies to improve process robustness.
  • Provide quality training and guidance to operators, inspectors, and production personnel to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Participate in risk management activities and support initiatives focused on operational excellence, lean manufacturing, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure full traceability and compliance within a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

Profile

A successful Aerospace Quality Engineer should have:

  • HNC/HND in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within aerospace, precision machining, CNC machining, or precision component manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001, and aerospace quality requirements.
  • Experience with FAIRs, NCRs, CAPA, Root Cause Analysis, and auditing.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
  • Proficient in quality improvement methodologies and data analysis techniques.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job Offer

  • Salary dependent on the level of experience, ranging from -40,000 to -50,000.
