£54,360 pa

rising to

£57,495 pa

incl. LW, plus

£2,500 Market Supplement . Location: Lambeth, South London. Closing date: 28th September 2025 at midnight.Role summary: Advanced Practitioner within the Family Support and Child Protection Service (FSCP) in Children Social Care. You will support the Team Manager of a busy team and hold a reduced caseload, providing guidance, supervision and mentoring to staff, and contributing to high standards of professional social work practice.Responsibilities

Support the Team Manager of a 6-member social care team (including one ASYE) with day-to-day management tasks and performance under supervision.Provide professional, reflective supervision and support to staff, including induction of new staff, newly qualified social workers and students.Mentor and model high standards of practice; jointly work with less experienced social workers and supervise their cases as applicable.Offer guidance on complex/high-risk cases, ensuring best outcomes for children and families.Be flexible to work some duties outside normal hours and participate in cross-department and cross-organisational groups and task teams as required.Contribute to the training and development of the team and participate in monthly supervision with the Team Manager.About You

We are looking for a compassionate, resilient, and experienced individual who has worked with children, young people, and their families in challenging circumstances. The ideal candidate will have:Deep understanding of child development and the impact of trauma, neglect and abuse.Proficiency in child protection legislation and statutory guidance (e.g., Children Act 1989 and 2004).Ability to build trust and rapport with children, young people and parents; promote openness and honest dialogue.Resilience to work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround of work.Creative problem-solving skills to find innovative solutions for challenging situations and outcomes for children and families.Experience guiding and supervising less experienced colleagues and supporting their development.Drive to improve practice and performance and model best practice.Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up to date with latest research, policies and best practices in children’s services.About Lambeth
