Advanced English Practitioner

At South Thames Colleges Group, we are on the lookout for an Advanced English Practitioner to play a crucial role in supporting both English teachers and students to improve achievement and attainment for students resitting their GCSE English exams across the Group.This role involves delivering targeted interventions, offering high-quality instructional support and developing strategies that help students improve their grades, particularly focusing on achieving high grades. You will work closely with teachers to enhance the overall learning experience and outcomes for resit GCSE students.You will develop and deliver revision workshops that specifically address key areas for improvement identified in the students'' mock exam results or progress assessment and offer advice and mentoring to teachers on how to support resit students, including the best ways to engage students, track progress, and deliver targeted interventions.We are looking for someone with a degree in English or a closely related subject, together with a recognised teaching qualification and substantial experience teaching GCSE English. You will have a strong understanding of the GCSE English curriculum, particularly the knowledge and skills required for students to achieve Grade 4 and above.
