Adults - Social Worker
Our client Walsall Council is looking for a Adults QSW to join their social care team.
About the Role
As a Social Worker, you will support adults with care and support needs and their carers to achieve positive outcomes, maintain independence, and enhance their well being. You will undertake strengths-based assessments, develop and review care and support plans, lead safeguarding enquiries where required, and work collaboratively with individuals, families, and partner agencies. The role requires professional, person-centred practice in line with the Care Act 2014, Social Work England standards, and council policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake strengths-based assessments and care planning for adults and carers in line with the Care Act 2014.
- Develop, implement, and review person-centred care and support plans that promote independence and positive outcomes.
- Manage a varied caseload, ensuring work is completed within statutory and local timescales.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks, ensuring appropriate safeguarding measures are in place.
- Lead safeguarding enquiries, planning, and reviews to protect adults from abuse or neglect.
- Advocate for adults, ensuring their voice is heard and access to independent advocacy is provided where required.
- Work collaboratively with families, communities, and multi-agency partners to achieve the best outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records in line with council requirements.
- Participate in regular supervision and escalate significant concerns appropriately.
- Support and mentor newly qualified social workers, students, and less experienced team members.
This role is being managed by the Social Care Team.
