Our client Lincolnshire county council is looking for an Adults Qualified Practitioner to join their Safeguarding Team.

As a Safeguarding Officer, you will play a critical role in protecting adults at risk, working within a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment. You will operate under the guidance of Safeguarding Principal Practitioners, delivering statutory safeguarding functions in line with the Care Act 2014 and Lincolnshire''s multi-agency safeguarding procedures.

This is a highly rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will lead and coordinate safeguarding enquiries and make the initial determination as to whether or not our legal duty has been met, working collaboratively with partner agencies to respond to concerns of abuse or neglect. Using a strengths-based and person-centred approach, you will ensure that individuals remain at the heart of all decisions, promoting choice, control, and positive outcomes.



Key Skills and Attributes

  • Strong Safeguarding Knowledge
    A solid understanding of safeguarding legislation, including Section 42 of the Care Act 2014, and the ability to apply this confidently in practice.
  • Risk Assessment & Decision-Making
    Ability to assess risk effectively, make sound professional judgements, and develop proportionate safeguarding plans that promote wellbeing and safety.
  • Triage Expertise
    Experience in screening and triaging safeguarding concerns, identifying thresholds, and determining appropriate pathways efficiently and confidently.
  • Professional Curiosity
    A proactive and inquisitive approach, with the confidence to ask questions, challenge information, and explore concerns thoroughly.
  • Strengths-Based Practice
    Skilled in empowering individuals, promoting independence, and supporting risk enablement while maintaining safety.
  • Multi-Agency Working
    Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with professionals across health, social care, and partner organisations to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Resilience & Ability to Work Under Pressure
    Comfortable managing a demanding workload, prioritising competing tasks, and maintaining focus in a busy safeguarding environment.
  • Communication & Engagement
    Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with adults at risk, families, and professionals, and to clearly record and present information.
  • Creative Problem Solving
    Ability to think creatively and identify innovative solutions, including linking individuals to community-based support and resources.
