This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Adult Social Care lawyer to join a supportive and experienced local government legal team, providing high-quality legal advice on complex and rewarding matters that directly support the protection of vulnerable adults. Due to continued demand and increased caseloads, the authority is looking for additional legal resource to support its busy Adult Social Care service. The successful candidate will work closely with social care professionals, senior officers and partner agencies, providing expert legal guidance and advocacy.The RoleYou will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of Adult Social Care and community care matters, including:Court of Protection proceedingsMental Capacity Act mattersDeprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)Adult safeguarding mattersProviding legal advice and support to Adult Social Care teamsPublic law advice and challenges to local authority decision-makingPreparing legal documentation, statements and applicationsConducting advocacy where requiredLiaising with internal departments, external agencies, ..... full job details .....
