Adult (Inpatient) Clinical Psychologist- Band 8a – LondonPulse Mental Health is searching for a Band 8a Clinical Psychologist to be welcomed into our client’s Inpatient clinic. We are looking for a compassionate, approachable, and enthusiastic clinical/counselling psychologist to join our team within the eating disorders service based in London. The Clinical Psychologist will report to the Therapy lead for eating disorders, the post holder will provide specialist psychology therapy service and evidence-based treatment across inpatient and day program services for patients receiving eating disorder treatment. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of patients, deliver group sessions to patients and their families as part of the therapy program and will work as a member of the multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will start immediately for an initial period of 6 months.Main Responsibilities:Providing specialist and comprehensive psychological assessments for adult inpatients and day patients receiving treatment to develop, deliver and recommend interventions as appropriate. This involves supporting patients assessed as having high physical and psychiatric riskProviding individual and group therapy to patients, providing a high standard of care and demonstrating best and innovative practice in line with NICE recommended and evidence-based psychological therapy e.g. CBT-ED, MANTRA or SSCMPlanning and delivering psychoeducation groups and process groupsBeing willing to participate in the delivery of presentations to a wide audience on topics related to eating disordersDemonstrating flexibility with regard to various demands in order to meet patients’ needsEvaluating and making decisions about treatment options, accounting for theoretical and therapeutic modalities and complex factors which may shape the historical and developmental processes of individuals and their familiesUndertaking risk assessment and risk management for patients and providing advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk managementFacilitating the involvement and support of carers and or family members in treatment programs as indicated, including carer support groupsAssisting the eating disorders unit (EDU) team with the strategic development of the therapy program and implementing new therapy modalities and new modes of delivery to meet patients’ needs at any timeWorking autonomously within the eating disorders team with little or no daily supervisionLiaising closely with the multidisciplinary team and being actively involved in ward rounds when required, clinical team meetings and community meetingsProviding feedback on therapy and assessments to nursing staff and other allied health team members on a daily basis and as requiredAttending and contributing to multidisciplinary meetingsMaintaining and contributing to the standards of professional care, ethics, policies, procedures and service developmentRequirements:Hold a doctorate in Clinical PsychologyBe HCPC registeredHave a proven track record in adult mental healthBe analytical and show good attention to detailBenefits of locum work:Daily payrollVariety of work opportunities in NHS and private sectorsExpand your skill set more quicklyFlexible hours of workWhy Pulse?First class support and advice from our team of dedicated and experienced consultants£300 recommend a friend bonus schemeHave access to ipoint our Electronic timesheet processing appVariety of work opportunities in both the NHS and private sectorsAccess to high-quality CPD training eventsDifferent payment methods available PAYE, Umbrella, PSC and LTDWe are unable to support or accept applications from candidates who are residents within the Red or Amber list of the Code of practice for the international recruitment of health and social care personnel in England, based on the World Health Organization (WHO) Workforce Support and Safeguard ..... full job details .....
