Additional Needs Support Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference every day?A specialist SEND school is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Additional Needs Support Assistant to support pupils with SLD, PMLD and autism.The Role:You''ll help pupils overcome barriers to learning while supporting their communication, development, independence, social skills and emotional wellbeing in a safe, nurturing environment.Working alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals, you will:-Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis-Deliver planned learning activities and adapt support to individual needs-Assist with personal care, including toileting, dressing and eating-Support therapy programmes and administer medication following training-Encourage communication using Makaton, PECS and assistive technology-Promote social, emotional, physical and cognitive development-Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff-Support positive behaviour strategies and physical intervention where trained-Prepare classroom resources and maintain a stimulating environment-Support pupils during snack times, outdoor learning, trips and off-site activities-Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents and external professionals-Support Post-16 pupils in developing independent living skillsWhy You''ll Love This Role:-Monday to Friday, term-time only-08:30-15:30 working hours-No evenings or ..... full job details .....
