About the role and school

Teach Plus are working with a friendly primary school in Edgware that is looking to build a reliable pool of Ad Hoc Teaching Assistants to provide flexible classroom cover.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who wants flexibility around their existing commitments while gaining experience across a primary school environment.

The Ad Hoc Teaching Assistant will support teachers with classroom activities, pupil supervision and learning support. There may also be opportunities to provide additional support to pupils with SEN, depending on the school''s daily requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Support class teachers with day-to-day classroom activities
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required
• Assist pupils with their learning and development
• Support positive behaviour and classroom routines
• Help prepare resources and learning activities
• Provide cover across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 when required
• Support pupils with additional needs
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures

Qualifications/Experience

• Previous experience working with children is desirable
• School or Teaching Assistant experience advantageous
• SEN experience is beneficial but not essential
• Reliable and punctual
• Flexible and adaptable
• Confident working with different age groups
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service desirable
