Our client is currently recruiting a qualified acute nurse for an acute facility in Kilkenny.

The Acute Care Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and complex health conditions in a fast-paced hospital environment. This role involves assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualised care plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high-quality, evidence-based patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with acute or critical illnesses
• Monitor, record, and report changes in patients’ conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and other prescribed treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care
• Operate and maintain medical equipment such as monitors, infusion pumps, and ventilators
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, and recovery processes
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation and reports
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and hospital policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• NMBI Pin
• Minimum 1–2 years of acute care or hospital-based nursing experience preferred
