Our client, a well-established insurance business that is part of one of the world’s largest insurance groups, is seeking a motivated
Actuarial Analyst
to join their team. You will support the Actuarial Team in providing in-house actuarial services.
You’ll support the delivery of in-house actuarial services across reserving, pricing, and data analysis, playing a key role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insight for the wider business. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly analytical graduate or early-career actuary who is keen to develop their skills and progress towards actuarial qualification.
Role Responsibilities
Data Preparation : Cleanse, reconcile, and validate data for actuarial analysis.
Projection Models : Update and maintain quarterly actuarial projection models.
Reserving Support : Assist in selecting appropriate ultimate claims and updating actuarial analyses.
Profit Commission : Contribute to the calculation of profit commission figures.
Documentation : Maintain clear and accurate documentation of actuarial processes and assumptions.
Stakeholder Liaison : Respond to data queries from carriers’ actuaries.
Knowledge Development : Build expertise in actuarial methodologies across different insurance products and markets
Professional Development : Attend industry events (LMSG/SIAS) and work towards passing IFoA exams.
Qualifications
Strong academic background – First-class or 2:1 degree in Mathematics, Science, or a related field
A-Level Mathematics at grade A
Enthusiasm and commitment to pursue actuarial qualification (IFoA exams)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a logical, methodical approach
Basic technical knowledge of the general insurance market
Familiarity with actuarial concepts, especially reserving and pricing
High attention to detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including VBA) and comfortable with data manipulation
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
Experience with actuarial software such as ResQ or @Risk
Previous exposure to financial analysis or risk assessment
