Introduction Active Travel Project Manager The Active Travel Project Manager Role is a hybrid position with expectations of a day a week in Somerset Council''s office at The Crescent in Taunton and the remaining days can be fulfilled remote working. This arrangement may change over time due to role demands and expectations.You will play a vital role in helping to drive the Council''s dedicated Active Travel capital programme of over £9 million. Work with key national bodies such as Active Travel England to ensure schemes comply with funding and design requirements. Plus work with local stakeholders and colleagues to inform, promote and help deliver a diverse range of active travel and transport schemes including the wide range of overlapping disciplines this can involve such as planning, S106 contributions, maintenance, policy etc.Role Purpose Active Travel Project Manager Support the Service Manager and Principal Transport Planner to oversee the development and scheme preparation stages of new active travel schemes, through to the commencement of construction and handover to operational delivery.Manages projects as the scheme transitions into construction.Co-ordinates with the various stakeholders to agree robust proposals, appropriate engagement from all necessary parties, commissioning of necessary technical activity and securing of necessary approvals and consents.The focus of this role will be on the Active Travel Programme, but the successful candidate will be required ..... full job details .....
