Senior Practice Accountant Location: Taunton (Office-based role) Salary: £35,000 £38,000 (depending on experience) Hours: Full-time preferred (part-time considered) About the Role We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Practice Accountant to join a friendly and growing accountancy practice in Taunton. This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone with all-round practice experience who enjoys working closely with clients and being part of a small, collaborative team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a broad portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting and taxation services while building strong client relationships. There is genuine scope for progression within the firm for the right individual. Key Responsibilities Prepare year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients. Prepare personal and business tax returns. Complete bookkeeping and VAT returns. Process client payrolls and respond to payroll queries. Support clients with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements and compliance. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing advice and support where appropriate. Liaise with HMRC and other third parties as required. Assist with the smooth day-to-day running of client portfolios and support the wider practice team.
