ABOUT THE FIRM

My client is a well-established local practice that's part of a large UK and Ireland accountancy and business advisory group. It's a friendly, close-knit office, but you've got the training, resources and specialist colleagues of a much bigger organisation behind you, which is a great setup when you're still building your skills.

THE ROLE

You'll prepare year-end accounts and tax computations for a portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, working closely with the seniors and managers. There's also some audit fieldwork, so you get a broader grounding than a pure accounts role. As you grow, you'll start helping the juniors too.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparing personal and corporation tax computations
• Helping with corporation tax and VAT returns
• Supporting audit engagements, including fieldwork
• Dealing directly with clients by phone and email
• Helping and guiding junior team members

WHO THIS WILL SUIT

• Part-qualified AAT, ACA or ACCA, or actively studying
• Previous experience in an accountancy practice
• Confident with Excel and Microsoft Office
• Organised, accurate and happy juggling deadlines
• Friendly and comfortable talking to clients
