Accounts / finance manager - Freight experience a must

Our client, a well-established and growing freight forwarding and logistics business, is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of their finance department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on finance professional with strong leadership skills and proven experience within the cargo, freight forwarding, or logistics sector.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of up to 10 staff while ensuring the smooth operation of all accounting and finance functions across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the smooth running of the Accounts Department and manage a team of up to 10 staffManage all aspects of Accounts Payable and Accounts ReceivableOversee Sales Ledger, Billing, and Credit Control functionsComplete and review Bank and Duty VAT reconciliationsPrepare and submit VAT ReturnsConduct and oversee credit checks and risk assessments for new UK and overseas clientsLiaise with senior management and external accountants as requiredSupervise the processing of sales and purchase invoicesResolve account-related queries and discrepanciesProduce and analyse PandL reports, Aged Debtor reports, budgets, and payroll informationProvide regular financial reporting and updates to the senior management teamEssential RequirementsProven experience across all aspects of accounts and finance managementPrevious managerial or team leadership experienceStrong background within the freight forwarding, cargo, logistics, or ..... full job details .....
