Role
At AXON Communications, we are looking for an experienced, dynamic, proactive, and responsible Account Director who would be able to hit the ground running. Within this role you will need to have experience working in Creative Marketing, holding senior account management responsibilities, supporting these at a strategic level in addition to the day-to-day management of team members. You will be a trusted advisor to your clients and alongside the Associate Director and the Senior Director of our Creative Marketing Practice, you will help build and shape the strategy for your accounts/brands, so we are pushing the highest creative standards of the whole of AXON upstream.

Creative Marketing is the newest practice in AXON, so we have the rare opportunity to build and shape the practice just the way we want to. We’re looking for likeminded individuals who are up for the challenge and are genuinely interested in the experience of building our practice. Joining the Creative Marketing team at AXON will give team members at all levels opportunities they may not experience in your mainstream healthcare marketing agency – including opportunities to work with practices outside of creative marketing, working on Global/European accounts and internal responsibilities that help shape the direction of our practice.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Strong client liaison and strategic counsel in leading accountsPlanning and management of multiple accounts, including development of communications programs, strategies, and creative tactics with senior support as neededEnsuring account profitability through sound financial management, including budget development, tracking, and reconciliation while adhering to brand strategyBuilding and developing cohesive client teams, instilling high standards to ensure exceptional quality is met when it comes to creative marketingManagement, mentoring, and monitoring of the long-term career development of team members as well as playing a lead role on internal activities such as recruitment and delivering trainingIdentifying and developing business opportunities with clientsCollaborating with all offices across our AVENIR GLOBAL network
At AXON we actively encourage our staff to be involved in activities outside of their day-to-day work. Whether that’s being involved in our Social, Diversity and Inclusion, or CSR Electives, attending networking events, or running training sessions on topics in which they have a personal interest. We have a keen focus on training and development and, as a rough guide, suggest employees aim to complete 37.5 hours of learning a year. Whether that be through online learning, classroom training, or attending external events, that is 1 week a year dedicated to your development.
Candidates Must Have
At least 6+ years’ proven experience within a healthcare communications agency; allowing you to demonstrate key competencies at this level.Experience having worked with line report(s) to help them grow, address gaps and provide relevant opportunities.Experience as an account director or responsibilities of that role, from within an agency environment, focused on healthcare advertising/marketing.Exceptional strong verbal and written communication skills and be seen as a logical, confident “voice” to clients and internal stakeholders alike.Strong attention to detail and exemplary listening skills.A natural curiosity to you, being comfortable to challenge why we are doing something when appropriate.A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification – ideally from within a scientific or marketing/comms field
